Taylor Made Designs has enjoyed a successful partnership with LEGOLAND for over 20 years, supporting them in various capacities. LEGOLAND Windsor Resort, a much-loved, award-winning family attraction, welcomes over two million visitors each year. Due to the nature of their operations and high guest footfall, LEGOLAND requires a wide range of uniforms that ensure their team remains comfortable, safe and presentable while delivering exceptional guest experiences. LEGOLAND Windsor Resort, is a specific site TMD have supported with their uniform and larger projects, supplying their park uniform that includes a wide range of products designed for practicality and to enhance the feel of the environment for their customers.
A Unique Uniform for a Unique Setting
LEGOLAND Windsor Resort was set to open a brand-new, woodland-themed family retreat as part of their continued expansion, providing families with a tranquil and immersive stay in a nature-rich environment.
To complement this vision, LEGOLAND sought a uniform that not only stood up to the demands of the team’s day-to-day activities but also aligned perfectly with the retreat’s woodland aesthetic. The brief was to create a uniform that embodied the park ranger and cosy campfire look, making the team feel like part of the magical, nature-themed experience. Included in the brief was a requirement to utilise khaki and denim materials to enhance the branding utilised on the uniform, they supplied the artwork they wished to use and then it was time to brainstorm!
Bringing the Theme to Life
TMD collaborated closely with the LEGOLAND wardrobe department to design a uniform that seamlessly blended functionality with theme-appropriate aesthetics. The team sourced and customised items that harmonised with the woodland setting, carefully selecting colours and materials that reflected the retreat’s natural elements. The process involved attention to detail, where decisions about branding elements, such as logos and colour schemes, were thoughtfully considered. TMD evaluated various techniques for applying these elements, weighing the pros and cons of print, embroidery, and badges. This careful selection process aimed to achieve the highest level of detail and durability, resulting in uniforms that were both visually appealing and functional, while embodying the feel of the Woodland Village and enhancing the overall guest experience.
1,245 woven badges were crafted, each designed to evoke the warm, inviting essence of a cozy campfire. Woven badges were chosen to create a crisp, branded logo and giving the uniform a polished, professional touch that LEGOLAND were striving for. To enhance the woodland aesthetic of the uniforms, a total of 1,002 acorns were intricately embroidered, adding the small details that reinforce the magical theme.
The result was a range of uniforms that not only met the practical needs of the team but also reinforced the immersive nature of the retreat, allowing staff to look and feel the part as they welcomed guests into the new space.
A Successful Delivery
Taylor Made Designs delivered the project on time and to the exact specifications requested by LEGOLAND. The new uniforms were a resounding success, enhancing the guest experience by making the staff feel like a natural part of the retreat’s woodland setting. LEGOLAND’s team was delighted with the final look and feel of the uniforms, and the new line received positive feedback for its comfort, durability, and distinctive style.
